I started buyEquality in 2007 after discovering that my local gas station financially supported discrimination against LGBTs.
Stunned by this, I did some research and found that I was spending thousands of dollars a year at companies that discriminated against me.
I realized that there had to be a better way to shop, and began to research companies as well as ask them to put their support for LGBT Equality in writing.
